Thanks to the generosity of Alex Thompson Racing, sponsored by Hugo Boss, 12 members of the school's newly formed Geography Club accompanied by three lucky members of staff went to the Southampton Boat Show. They were shown around the Open 60 racing boat 'Hugo Boss' by Alex, who answered many questions about the forthcoming Velux 5 Oceans race which starts from Bilbao on October 22nd. He will be sailing single-handed to Freemantle Australia where he will spend Christmas and New Year with his team, looked after in the crew house by Bryony Fielding our Mrs. Bleeck's daughter, who is also his office manager in Haslar Marina, Gosport. The next stage of the race is to Norfolk, Virginia USA. The final stage is back to Bilbao in April next year. The Geography club will be following the races through the internet. God Speed, Alex!
